LVT Flooringfor Commercial & Residential Projects

LVT flooring is layered luxury vinyl tile or plank designed for wood- and stone-look interiors. 3C-Floor supplies dry back, click lock, loose lay and peel-and-stick flooring for importers, distributors, contractors and private label brands. Choose the installation system first, then define total thickness, wear layer, size and surface for the intended room and traffic.

Published specifications vary by product family: dry back LVT includes 2.0 and 3.0 mm constructions, while click LVT has a separate thickness range. OEM wear-layer, décor and packaging options are discussed against the approved specification. Compare the systems below and request samples and a quotation for your application.

01 / Choose the installation

Four systems. Different project priorities.

The installation method determines subfloor preparation, adhesive needs, floor height and replacement strategy. Select the system before comparing unit prices.

Dry Back LVT

Glue-down luxury vinyl tile for a fixed, low-profile floor. A useful starting point for retail, offices and hospitality projects where a bonded installation is preferred.

Confirm: smooth substrate, moisture limits, adhesive selection, rolling loads and curing time.

Click Lock LVT

Interlocking planks for suitable renovation or retail collections. Confirm the actual core construction and locking profile: “click” describes the connection, rather than proving a rigid SPC core.

Confirm: floor flatness, expansion allowances, doorway transitions and approved backing or underlay.

See the click product detail above for the published range.

02 / Published product families

LVT specifications, with the differences made clear.

These are the values published on 3C-Floor’s individual product pages. They describe different families and should not be combined into one universal specification.

For an OEM order: broader 0.2, 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7 mm wear-layer options are discussed separately by construction and order. Availability, thickness combinations, tolerances, finish and packaging must be confirmed in the quotation and approved technical sheet. A listed range does not mean every combination is available.

Surface & décor

Wood grain, stone look, matte and embossed finishes help shape the collection. Request a physical sample for the actual gloss, color and texture. Confirm EIR availability for the selected décor.

Dimensions & edges

Agree the plank or tile size, edge profile and layout before approval. For repeat orders, keep the same product code and measured specification rather than relying on a design name.

Backing & accessories

Dry back, loose lay and self-adhesive products have different backing requirements. A foam underlay intended for a click system should not be assumed suitable under glue-down LVT.

03 / Read the construction

Total thickness and wear layer answer different questions.

Total thickness describes the complete product gauge. Wear layer describes the protective layer above the printed design. A thicker LVT plank does not automatically have a thicker wear layer, and a thicker wear layer does not eliminate scratches, indentation or installation movement.

Use overall thickness to check transitions, door clearance and construction. Use wear layer together with surface treatment and documented use classification to assess service suitability. Request separate evidence for dimensional stability, residual indentation, slip, fire, emissions or acoustics when the project requires it.

Unit check: 1 mil = 0.0254 mm. A 0.3 mm wear layer is about 12 mil; 0.5 mm is about 20 mil; 0.7 mm is about 28 mil. “Mil” is not “millimeter.”

Typical LVT layer roles

Construction varies by product family.

01
Surface treatmentCleaning, stain and scuff behavior; confirm the actual finish.
02
Transparent wear layerProtects the decorative print against progressive wear.
03
Decorative filmWood, stone or other printed visual.
04
Structural vinyl layersProvide the body and contribute to dimensional stability.
05
Backing / installation interfaceBonding, friction or self-adhesive behavior, depending on type.
04 / Application-to-specification mapping

Specify for the room, traffic and maintenance plan.

Commercial LVT flooring needs a complete performance specification. A room label or wear-layer number alone does not establish suitability.

Starting points for project selection — subject to product approval
ApplicationSystem to evaluateWhat to specify before ordering
Homes & apartmentsClick or dry back; self-adhesive only for an approved light-duty useFloor height, furniture loads, cleaning, acoustic needs and subfloor condition.
Hotels & hospitality roomsDry back or a suitable click systemSuitcase / trolley traffic, impact noise, replacement stock and room-to-corridor transitions.
Retail & office fit-outsDry back; loose lay where replacement or access is a priorityFoot traffic, castor chairs, rolling loads, adhesive suitability and documented use classification.
Kitchens & bathroomsAn approved LVT and installation systemSpill exposure, joint and edge detailing, slip requirements and moisture control beneath the floor.
Healthcare & educationA project-approved product and installationCleaning chemicals, fire and slip requirements, emissions, wheeled equipment and joint hygiene.

Where standard LVT may be the wrong choice: continually wet rooms, exterior areas, active moisture problems, extreme temperature exposure or specialist ESD / cleanroom requirements need a separate suitability review. Do not infer these capabilities from ordinary LVT construction.

05 / Material and installation

Water-resistant vinyl still needs a dry, sound subfloor.

LVT’s resistance to everyday spills does not protect an adhesive, substrate or building from every source of moisture.

Surface water

Spills are one exposure.

Clean up spills promptly and use the specified cleaning method. Joints and perimeter openings can allow water to reach layers beneath the vinyl. A waterproof material is not a waterproof room.

Moisture below

Test before installation.

Check the substrate with the test method required by the flooring and adhesive instructions. Agree moisture mitigation when results exceed the approved limit. A click or loose lay format does not remove this step.

Heat and movement

Plan the site conditions.

Confirm acclimation, service temperatures and any underfloor heating requirements. Direct sunlight, glazing and temperature cycling can change the adhesive and expansion requirements.

06 / Compare the right alternative

LVT or SPC? Start with the required installation.

Flexible LVT is useful when the project calls for a bonded, modular vinyl floor. SPC is a rigid-core category often supplied as a click system. Neither name guarantees a particular wear layer, acoustic rating or tolerance for an uneven substrate.

Compare the full build, site preparation, finished height, rolling-load suitability and replacement process. If a rigid click floor is the project priority, review 3C-Floor’s SPC flooring range alongside the LVT options.

Four checks before buying

Subfloor flatness

Thin flexible LVT can reveal substrate imperfections. Rigid core also needs an approved flatness tolerance.

Footfall and loads

Check indentation, wheeled loads and wear documentation for the specific product.

Acoustics

Compare a tested floor assembly. Backing thickness alone does not establish an acoustic rating.

Maintenance access

Plan how a damaged plank or tile will be replaced after occupancy.

07 / OEM, wholesale and repeat supply

Turn a design choice into an approved buying specification.

3C-Floor’s LVT offer includes specification discussions, samples, private label packaging and export-order coordination. These details should be agreed together.

A collection that fits your market

Importers and distributors can discuss installation type, total thickness, wear layer, plank or tile size, décor family, surface and carton presentation. Contractors can start with the room schedule and performance requirements.

Confirm neutral or branded cartons, product labels, barcode data, pallet marks and sample presentation. Discuss custom feasibility and the décor-by-décor quantity before final artwork approval.

For detailed brand-development requirements, use the OEM LVT and private label program.

Keep a signed approval record.

Product reference

Record the décor code, construction, dimensions, texture, gloss and approved physical sample. A website photo is a visual reference, not a batch acceptance standard.

Packaging reference

Record carton artwork, language, barcode, square meters per carton, carton weight, pallet plan and batch identification.

Buyer quality-control checklist

Agree what gets checked, and how.

  • Appearance: approved color reference, print variation, gloss and surface defects.
  • Geometry: dimensions, squareness, edge condition and agreed tolerances.
  • Construction: overall thickness and wear layer recorded separately.
  • Installation: click engagement, backing or adhesive interface, depending on format.
  • Performance documents: match the report to the product, construction and target-market requirement.
  • Shipment: label accuracy, carton quantities, pallet condition and batch traceability.

Before bulk approval: agree sampling, acceptance criteria and the records to accompany the order. Confirm MOQ, lead time and report availability in the written quotation.

08 / Cost and quotation

Compare the installed cost, then confirm the order details.

LVT flooring price is meaningful only when installation type, thickness, wear layer, size, surface, packaging and delivery basis are comparable. A lower material quotation may require more preparation, adhesive or labor on site.

Material cost

Construction, décor, surface, custom size, packaging and quantity per design.

Installation cost

Subfloor repair, leveling, moisture control, adhesive, accessories and labor.

Logistics cost

Confirmed carton coverage, weight, pallet loading, freight and agreed delivery terms.

Operating cost

Cleaning, access for replacement, layout waste and reserved maintenance stock.

Repeat-order planning: agree batch identification and a retained sample. Where appearance continuity matters, discuss ordering the project quantity and spare stock together.

09 / Buyer questions

LVT flooring questions, answered directly.

Use these answers to compare product types and prepare a clearer purchase specification.

What is LVT flooring, and is it the same as LVP?

LVT means luxury vinyl tile: a layered resilient vinyl floor supplied in modular tiles or planks. LVP means luxury vinyl plank and usually refers to the wood-look plank format within the same wider category. The name alone does not specify the core, wear layer or installation system; these must be listed separately.

Is LVT flooring waterproof?

Vinyl LVT resists everyday spills, but an installed LVT floor should not be treated as a waterproofing membrane. Water can reach the subfloor through joints, edges or other openings. Confirm the product, adhesive and moisture-control system for kitchens or bathrooms; continually wet areas and active leaks need a separately designed solution.

Which LVT installation method is best for commercial projects?

Dry back LVT is often a useful starting point for commercial projects that require a bonded floor. Loose lay can suit planned replacement or access needs, while click LVT can suit suitable floating-floor renovations. Commercial suitability depends on the complete specification, traffic, rolling loads, subfloor and installation instructions, rather than the installation name alone.

What thickness and wear layer should buyers specify?

Specify total thickness and wear layer as two separate values. Total thickness affects construction and finished floor height; the wear layer protects the decorative surface. 3C-Floor lists different ranges by product family, with additional wear-layer options discussed for OEM orders. Match the final selection to traffic and documented performance instead of choosing the thickest product automatically.

How is flexible LVT different from SPC flooring?

Conventional flexible LVT has a more pliable vinyl construction, whereas SPC uses a rigid stone-plastic composite core. Flexible glue-down LVT may suit a low-profile bonded installation; SPC may suit a rigid click-floor requirement. Both need a suitable subfloor, and neither category name alone proves commercial wear performance, acoustic performance or resistance to every load.

Can LVT be installed over existing tile or used with underfloor heating?

Some LVT systems can be used over suitable existing hard floors or compatible underfloor heating, subject to written product and installation approval. Existing floors must be sound, clean, dry and sufficiently smooth; grout lines may require preparation. Confirm adhesive compatibility, moisture limits, heating temperatures and the commissioning sequence before ordering.

Can 3C-Floor supply OEM or private label LVT flooring?

3C-Floor offers OEM and private label LVT programs, including specification discussions, décor selection and branded packaging. Agree the product structure, surface, size, sample reference, carton artwork and destination-market documentatio, n before production. Custom feasibility, minimum order quantity and production timing depend on the final order and require a quotation.

What affects LVT flooring price and the accuracy of a quotation?

LVT flooring price depends on installation type, total thickness, wear layer, décor and surface requirements, size, packaging and order quantity. Compare quotations on the same specification and delivery basis. For project cost, also include subfloor preparation, adhesive or approved accessories, labor, layout waste and spare stock.
