Homogeneous PVC Flooring: Composition, Fire Resistance & Anti-Static Variants

Update:2025/7/10 17:05:10 Views:2

Homogeneous PVC flooring is a single-layer, through-color flooring material composed of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), plasticizers, stabilizers, and mineral fillers. Its uniform structure ensures consistent wear resistance, making it suitable for high-traffic areas like hospitals, labs, and industrial facilities.

A key feature of homogeneous PVC flooring is its inherent fire-retardant properties. It typically meets stringent fire safety standards (e.g., EN 13501-1 Class Bfl-s1), offering low flame spread and minimal smoke emission. Some variants incorporate additional flame-retardant additives for enhanced protection in critical environments.

For specialized applications, anti-static homogeneous PVC flooring is available in two main types:

Static-dissipative (ESD) – With a surface resistance of 10^6–10^9 ohms, it prevents static buildup in electronics manufacturing or server rooms.

Conductive – With resistance below 10^6 ohms, it provides grounding for explosive or highly sensitive environments.

These floors incorporate carbon or metal fibers to ensure consistent static control while maintaining durability and chemical resistance.

Homogeneous PVC flooring combines safety, functionality, and low maintenance, making it a reliable choice for demanding commercial and industrial settings.
