Acoustic WPC flooring is a multilayer waterproof vinyl plank built around a wood plastic composite core and a resilient sound-control interface. In most click-floor programs, that interface is an attached IXPE, EVA or cork pad engineered to soften footfall, reduce the hard or hollow tone heard inside the room and create a warmer walking feel.
It is often described as sound absorbing WPC or quiet vinyl plank, but the most reliable specification considers the core, backing density, plank dimensions, click joint, subfloor and complete floor-ceiling assembly together.
More foam is not automatically better. The target is controlled resilience: enough cushioning to improve acoustic comfort, but enough support to protect the locking system and preserve a solid installed feel.

IXPE, EVA and cork each create a different balance of resilience, support, appearance and price. Density and recovery matter as much as nominal thickness.
The plank should not flex excessively at the edge. Backing, core and profile geometry are checked together so sound comfort does not come at the cost of joint stability.
Traffic level, scratch expectations and cleaning requirements determine the surface build. Acoustic positioning still needs a commercially appropriate wear layer.

WPC is usually positioned as the comfort-focused member of the rigid vinyl family. Its core has a less mineral-dense feel than SPC, while an attached resilient layer can further change the way impact energy travels through the plank and into the subfloor.
Acoustic WPC improves floor sound comfort, but no plank alone completely soundproofs a building. A useful RFQ identifies what type of noise matters and what documentation the project requires.
Footsteps, chair movement and dropped objects create vibration through the floor. This is usually the first concern in apartments, hotels and upper-level rooms.
The click, tap or hollow character heard in the installed room affects perceived quality even when no formal building rating is specified.
Speech and music move through the full wall-floor-ceiling construction. Flooring can be one part of the solution, but it cannot replace broader acoustic design.
