Flooring Collection Spec Sheet

A flooring collection spec sheet is a comparison-ready record of flooring products across SPC, WPC, LVT and PVC vinyl rolls. It helps importers, flooring distributors, private-label brands and project teams align construction, wear layer, dimensions, installation, finishes and approval documents before selecting SKUs.

Use the 3C-Floor planning matrix to shortlist the right flooring families and prepare a consistent RFQ. Published values are starting references—not certified performance results or a substitute for an approved model-specific technical data sheet.

The quick answer

What belongs in a collection-level flooring spec?

A portfolio view helps select the right family; a final technical sheet approves the exact product.

A master specification, not a single-SKU certificate.

A useful flooring collection specification sheet records collection and model codes, construction type, finished thickness, wear layer where applicable, format, backing, surface, installation method, target application, technical-document status, packaging and revision control. Apply the same field names across the range, but keep product-specific exceptions clear. Match every shortlisted item to its own coded sample and final technical data sheet before ordering.

Important: Rows summarize separate published product ranges. A row is not a stock offer, a certified specification or a statement that every combination can be manufactured. The controlling document for a purchase is the approved SKU specification and quotation.

For exact SPC thickness definitions, consult the SPC flooring spec sheet. The collection matrix intentionally compares multiple families rather than duplicating the technical scope of individual product sheets. Published reference values reviewed 13 October 2026.

02 / Specify the right family

One collection does not mean one construction.

SPC, WPC, LVT and vinyl sheet can sit inside a coordinated flooring portfolio. Each solves a different installation, merchandising or project problem.

Rigid / click

SPC: stability-led

A denser rigid-core choice to evaluate where plank support, click installation and a firm walking feel are priorities. Check core, wear surface and locking profile together—not merely thickness.

Approval focus: finished vs body thickness, pad, joint and measured performance.

Comfort / click

WPC: comfort-led

A foamed-core vinyl program suited to comfort-conscious interiors when the selected model meets the project's actual point-load and joint needs. Review 3C-Floor WPC vinyl flooring for current family options.

Approval focus: pad, underfoot feel, load scope and sample consistency.

Modular / flexible

LVT: method-led

Dry back, click and loose lay LVT differ in floor height, subfloor preparation and how modules are restrained. A combined term such as “LVT 3 mm” is incomplete without the system.

Use the LVT flooring specification sheet to compare variants in detail.

Sheet / seam plan

Vinyl rolls: project-led

Homogeneous and heterogeneous sheet vinyl are specified around roll size, seams, cleaning and the project's technical needs. The collection matrix must identify the actual sheet construction.

Review the PVC flooring roll supply range for commercial project planning.

03 / Real 3C-Floor product reference images

See the material. Approve the construction.

Appearance images help shortlist a collection, but the final approval should use identifiable physical samples with the correct edge, backing and surface.

04 / Information buyers need

Six fields that make a multi-SKU collection comparable

Across an entire range, comparable data is more valuable than an impressive but inconsistent specification list.

01 / PRODUCT IDENTIFICATION

Collection ≠ model ≠ décor

Assign separate collection, construction code and décor code fields. One wood color can be sold on more than one construction; a sample label must identify the full finished product.

02 / THICKNESS DEFINITION

Finished vs body vs pad

For attached-pad plank systems, separately record the full finished thickness, body, rigid core when relevant and pad. A “6 mm with pad” product is not always comparable with a “6 mm + pad” quote.

03 / WEAR SURFACE

Don't mix mm and mil

Use millimeters as the controlling unit or state a clear agreed alternative. 20 mil is 0.508 mm, while 0.5 mm is about 19.7 mil. Homogeneous vinyl is evaluated differently from decorative multilayer LVT.

04 / INSTALLATION SYSTEM

State the real method

Click, dry back, loose lay and welded sheet installations need different substrate, accessory and joint information. Installation classification belongs in the collection table, not only in a brochure footer.

05 / PROOF

Link each claim to evidence

A performance line should point to a method, result, unit, report number, tested construction and acceptance requirement. Do not copy a rating from another SKU or floor assembly.

06 / ORDER IDENTITY

Control the approved revision

Freeze the sample, specification, carton label, barcode and packing record under a shared version reference. Re-assess reports when the core, finish, attached pad or click joint changes.

05 / Evidence & document hierarchy

What documentation should accompany the collection?

The master sheet is the index; it should point toward technical evidence, not replace it. Record the required method and version for the country, contract and exact product.

Document / propertyWhere it belongsBuyer verification
Collection master sheetFamily, target market, construction, model code, major options and approval status.Issue date, version owner, obsolete-SKU flag and latest approved model reference.
Model technical data sheetSpecific product identity, dimensions, nominal values, declared properties and installation limits.Exact sample code, construction, tolerances and pad inclusion; supplier approval.
Layer / overall thicknessRelevant measurement methods such as ISO 24346 (overall thickness) and ISO 24340 (layer thickness), where applicable. What was measured, test method / edition, nominal value, tolerance and sample identity.
Stability & product standardProduct-specific test and specification scope; for example ASTM F3261 for relevant rigid-core flooring, ASTM F1700 for applicable solid vinyl tile and ISO 23999 for relevant dimensional-change checks.Applicability to the selected product, method edition, result, acceptance limit and tested construction.
Fire, slip, emissions & soundDestination-market / project requirements, report or certificate references.Do not infer certification or ratings from thickness. Verify certificate scope, assembly, substrate, date and required classification.
Installation + maintenanceApproved adhesive / pad, moisture assessment, flatness, movement allowances, joint and cleaning instructions.Installer-ready revision that matches the quoted model and commercial use conditions.
Packing / OEM releaseSKU, décor, units per pack, effective coverage, weight, pallet marks, barcode and artwork.Count, dimensional yield, brand approvals and traceable revision for every carton / roll.
Reference standards here are examples of buyer checks, not a declaration that a given 3C-Floor SKU has passed them. Specify the current applicable standard and request supporting product-specific evidence.
Collection data must respect construction differences.

For SPC/WPC, the rigid core and attached pad are separate properties. For LVT, record its specific dry-back, loose-lay or click construction. For homogeneous sheet vinyl, do not invent a separate decorative film / transparent wear-layer value; request the actual through-body construction data. More on rigid-core measurement is available in the SPC and WPC specifications guide.

06 / Merchandising, OEM & export planning

Design a collection buyers can approve—and reorder.

A commercial flooring collection needs a repeatable product system, not just a large color selection. Model codes, approval packages and packaging should remain synchronized.

Build the range in controlled layers.

Begin with target application and installation type. Then select one or more constructions, a limited décor language, a surface standard, a wear-layer requirement and a backing strategy. Decide later which selections deserve separate price or merchandising tiers.

  • Collection map: assign each SKU a family, market tier, installation and sample code.
  • Visual controls: freeze décor, gloss, embossing and bevel against the approved master sample.
  • Technical release: approve build-up, key test evidence, installation limits and packaging claims.
  • Replenishment plan: agree change notices and replacement-stock references for future orders.

For branded click-floor programs, review 3C-Floor's OEM SPC flooring and private-label options as a separate product-development step.

07 / Logistics and complete collection cost

Make carton coverage and roll yield part of the sheet.

Two suppliers may quote the same price per square meter while supplying different effective coverage, carton counts, pallet masses or roll cutting yields. A collection master should reveal those differences before order consolidation.

  • Plank and tile: effective installed length × width × pieces per carton ÷ 1,000,000 = nominal m² / carton when measurements are in mm.
  • Sheet vinyl: roll width × roll length = nominal gross area; a 2 m × 20 m roll contains 40 m² before cutting or waste.
  • Multi-décor orders: identify area and cartons by SKU, not just the combined total.
  • Quotation parity: align Incoterms, packing, shipment weights, test-document scope and destination port.

The formula is geometric; installed coverage depends on actual effective dimensions, pattern, trimming, room layout and spares. MOQ, production timing and commercial terms need a current quotation.

Flooring collection spec sheet FAQ

Quick answers for wholesale buyers, commercial specification teams, architects and private-label flooring brands.

What is a flooring collection spec sheet?

A flooring collection spec sheet is a master comparison record that organizes multiple flooring families or SKUs using consistent fields such as product type, thickness, wear layer, dimensions, installation, finish, backing and approval status. It is a selection and procurement document; each approved SKU still needs its own current technical data sheet and supporting evidence.

How is a collection spec sheet different from a product technical data sheet?

A collection sheet compares the range and helps shortlist products; a model-specific technical data sheet describes one defined construction and its declared properties. Test reports document methods and measured results. A tender submittal should reference the exact approved model, document revision and applicable evidence.

Can SPC, WPC, LVT and sheet vinyl be compared using the same table?

Yes, if the table separates common selection fields from construction-specific values. Installation, wear layer and backing must be interpreted according to the flooring family. For example, homogeneous PVC sheet does not use a printed-film wear-layer description in the same way as heterogeneous LVT.

What thickness and wear layer should be listed?

Record nominal finished thickness and, where applicable, body, core and pad thickness separately. State wear layer in millimeters and identify the controlling measurement basis. Published selection ranges cannot replace the exact values, tolerances and model identity accepted for an order.

Is a 20 mil wear layer the same as 0.5 mm?

Not exactly. One mil equals 0.0254 mm; 20 mil equals 0.508 mm, while 0.5 mm equals about 19.7 mil. Use one controlling unit and agreed tolerance in the purchase specification.

Which documents should accompany a commercial flooring collection?

Request a model-specific technical sheet, approved sample reference, installation and maintenance instructions, packing data, and the test reports or certificates required by the destination market or project. Check scope, method, edition and product identity before making performance claims.

Can 3C-Floor help create an OEM or private-label flooring collection?

3C-Floor publishes OEM flooring options including décor, surface, thickness, wear layer, backing and branded packaging for relevant programs. Buyers should confirm final combinations, samples, documents, order quantities and commercial terms by quotation.

What information is needed for a collection specification quotation?

Provide the destination market and channel, application, flooring families, required construction and dimensions, wear layer, décor, backing, installation, quantities per design, packaging, mandatory documents, target schedule and destination port. Ask for a proposed SKU matrix and revision-controlled approval package.
