SPC technical
data sheet

An SPC technical data sheet identifies the construction, dimensions, wear layer, backing and declared performance of a specific stone plastic composite flooring model. A usable SPC flooring TDS pairs each performance claim with a test method, result, unit and supporting report.

For importers, distributors, architects and commercial project buyers, this reference explains what to request before approving rigid core vinyl flooring. Separate overall thickness from wear-layer and pad thickness; verify dimensional stability, joint fit and application limits; and match the report to the product being ordered. 3C-Floor supplies SPC flooring and supports OEM specification discussions. Request the selected model’s technical sheet and applicable evidence for your destination market.

Buyer reference • Model-specific values require confirmation

01 / Product identity & construction

Start with a traceable
product specification.

An SPC flooring technical specification is useful only when the product can be identified. Record the product code, decor, construction revision and intended market before comparing numerical performance.

SPC technical data sheet — fields to confirm for the selected model
Technical fieldInformation to recordBuyer approval checkpoint
Product identificationModel / product code, decor code, collection and TDS revision date.Use the same identifiers on samples, quotations, reports and cartons.
Core & constructionSPC rigid mineral-filled polymer core; complete layer arrangement.Confirm the selected construction rather than relying on a generic layer illustration.
Overall thicknessNominal thickness in mm, permitted tolerance and whether backing is included.Record flooring-body thickness and attached-pad thickness separately.
Wear-layer thicknessTransparent wear layer in mm, with measurement method and tolerance.Do not count the decor film, rigid core or pad as wear layer.
Plank / tile dimensionsLength × width in mm or inches; dimensional tolerances, squareness and edge details.Confirm the drawing, format and actual dimensions of the approved sample.
BackingPad type, thickness and attachment; IXPE / EVA options subject to model confirmation.Specify the exact pad used in the test specimen and the supply order.
Surface & decorTexture, coating, gloss, bevel and approved color reference.Approve a physical sample under agreed lighting; record acceptable visual variation.
Installation & jointFloating click system, assembly instructions and approved subfloor conditions.Confirm the actual locking profile and compatible accessories.
Use & limitationsDeclared residential or commercial suitability, heating conditions and warranty exclusions.Obtain written suitability for the proposed traffic, loads and environment.
Packaging & OEMPieces / carton, coverage / carton, mass, pallet layout, labeling and private-label artwork.Check quantities against confirmed plank dimensions and agree carton identification.
Published catalog example

One configuration is not the whole range.

The 3C-Floor SPC product catalog lists an SPC Vinyl Click example with the dimensions shown here. Confirm the current model, tolerances and backing breakdown before specifying it.

5.0 mmListed overall thickness
0.3 mmListed wear layer
7″ × 48″Listed plank format

Thickness notation matters. If a quotation describes a flooring body plus a separate pad, keep both dimensions visible in the purchase specification. A thicker attached pad does not increase the wear layer or prove stronger click joints.

02 / Performance & evidence

Read the method.
Then read the result.

A test standard explains how a property is evaluated. A reported result describes the specimen tested. The project specification defines the acceptance requirement. All three must be clear when comparing an SPC flooring technical data sheet.

SPC performance matrix — reference methods and model-specific evidence
PropertyReference / documentationWhat the report should showValue status
Rigid-core product requirementsASTM F3261-26Applicable product classification and the relevant physical / performance assessment. F3261 is a product specification, not a certification logo.Confirm applicability and supporting evaluation for the selected model.
Wear-layer measurementISO 24340Measured layer thickness, unit and specimen construction. Check the exact edition cited by the laboratory.Request measured values; catalog thickness is nominal.
Dimensional stability & curlingISO 23999:2025Changes in dimensions and vertical deformation after heat exposure / reconditioning, with conditions and units.Model-specific report required; no universal result declared here.
Residual indentationISO 24343-1Remaining indentation after a specified load is applied and removed. Verify units, specimen and procedure.Confirm the result and acceptance requirement.
Joint fit & strengthAgreed applicable method plus joint drawings and inspection records.Locking profile, joint openings, height difference and strength where tested; relevant directions and specimen dimensions.Confirm the exact joint configuration.
Reaction to fire & slipApplicable destination-market classification and test report.Standard, classification / result, specimen, substrate and relevant conditions; dry and wet slip claims must be distinguished. No fire or slip class assumed across the range.
VOC / indoor air emissionsRequired emissions scheme or laboratory method for the target market.Product identity, test conditions, issue date and covered construction; verify any claimed certificate scope.Confirm applicable model-specific documentation.
Acoustic performanceComplete assembly test report using the project’s required metric.Flooring, pad, base slab, ceiling and installation assembly; metric and test conditions.Assembly-specific; do not apply one rating to every pad option.
Castor / load / stain performanceAgreed use-specific method and report.Load, wheel or chemical conditions, exposure period and damage criteria where relevant.Confirm evidence for the actual use case.

Reference editions checked: 7 October 2026. ASTM lists F3261-26 as active; ISO lists ISO 23999:2025 as the current dimensional-stability and curling method. Keep the edition actually used on a report visible and agree the edition required by your project. Mentioning a standard does not establish that a 3C-Floor model has passed it.

03 / Technical due diligence

A report must match
the floor you receive.

Before approving an SPC flooring test report, compare its specimen description with the quotation and approved sample. A result for another core, pad or surface finish may not support your ordered construction.

Match the specimen

Check manufacturer, model, thickness, wear layer, attached pad and finish. If the laboratory used a different internal code, request a written mapping to the supplied product.

Match the claim

Read the method, edition, units and actual result. “Pass” needs a stated criterion. A nominal thickness or promotional label cannot replace a measured result.

Match the installation

Confirm substrate and assembly details for acoustic or fire claims. Check that project conditions and declared product limitations agree with the tested system.

3C-Floor’s quality-control information describes flooring testing and acceptance of third-party testing. Discuss the required test scope and applicable documentation before order approval.

Document control

Which document
answers which question?

An SPC TDS, specification sheet, laboratory report and safety data sheet serve different purposes. A complete procurement file uses each document for the information it can actually establish.

Technical documents for SPC flooring procurement
DocumentMain purposeUse it to confirm
Technical data sheet / TDSSummarizes a defined product’s technical characteristics and declared performance.Construction, measured / declared properties, methods, limitations and revision.

Construction before comparison

Separate durability,
stability and comfort.

SPC core thickness, wear-layer thickness and backing describe different parts of the floor. Compare each field with the property you need to evaluate, then request evidence for the actual configuration.

  1. Wear layer: surface protectionSpecify the measured transparent layer. Thickness alone does not establish scratch resistance, stain resistance or commercial suitability.
  2. Core and joint: structural behaviorReview stability, indentation and joint performance. A thicker product is not automatically a stronger locking system.
  3. Backing: installation and soundConfirm pad type, thickness and compatibility. Use assembly evidence for acoustics rather than assuming a pad name guarantees a particular rating.

Explore 3C-Floor underlayment options when discussing backing, then confirm the flooring manufacturer’s approved combination.

04 / Application-led approval

Specify for the space.
Verify for the use.

The right SPC technical data depends on the use case. Room traffic, rolling loads, water exposure, sound requirements and installation conditions should guide the documents you request.

RESIDENTIAL / MULTIFAMILY

Homes & rental programs

Balance visual consistency, everyday maintenance and the replacement plan. Match the wear layer and finish to the intended household traffic.

Priority evidence

  • Construction and dimensional tolerances
  • Required indoor-air documentation
  • Joint fit and approved installation
  • Acoustic assembly for apartments
COMMERCIAL / HOSPITALITY

Offices, retail & hotels

Approve documented commercial suitability. Hotel rooms, corridors and retail traffic can place different demands on the same-looking floor.

Priority evidence

  • Declared use and wear performance
  • Indentation and relevant load tests
  • Fire / slip evidence required locally
  • Cleaning and maintenance conditions
OEM / DISTRIBUTION

Private-label collections

Define one approved construction per product code. A change in pad, wear layer or joint profile should trigger a documented specification review.

Priority evidence

  • Signed sample and revision control
  • Model-to-report identity mapping
  • Carton coverage, mass and labeling
  • Repeat-order consistency checks

Waterproof flooring is not a waterproof building assembly. The water resistance of an SPC plank does not establish subfloor moisture suitability or seal every perimeter and joint. Confirm the complete installation for moisture-prone rooms; obtain written approval for any unusual environment.

For installation planning, review the SPC click-lock installation guide and obtain the instructions for the specific supplied model. Confirm heating limits, substrate moisture, flatness, expansion provisions and permitted additional underlay in writing.

Sample → approval → bulk supply

Keep one specification
from sample to shipment.

3C-Floor manufactures SPC flooring and offers OEM and private-label discussions covering configuration and packaging. Its wider flooring portfolio includes WPC, LVT and PVC flooring rolls. Review the SPC manufacturing and OEM program when defining a repeatable product line.

  • Sign off a physical reference sample.
  • Record the construction and revision.
  • Agree tolerances and inspection scope.
  • Map relevant reports to the model.
  • Check carton labels and coverage.
  • Document proposed substitutions.

Make values comparable

Keep units, directions, test editions and conditions visible. Avoid comparing a nominal catalog value with an actual laboratory result as though they are the same.

Agree the approval package

Set the document and sample requirements before deposit or production approval. Required testing, MOQ and lead time depend on the selected program and need confirmation.

Control later changes

Agree how core, coating, pad, joint and packaging changes will be reviewed. Keep the approved construction attached to the purchase order and reorder file.

Procurement questions

SPC technical
data sheet FAQ

Direct answers for technical review, product comparison and specification approval.

What is an SPC technical data sheet?

An SPC technical data sheet is a model-specific summary of stone plastic composite flooring construction, dimensions and declared performance. It should identify the product, explain thickness and backing, state test methods and units, and refer to supporting reports and installation limitations.

Is an SPC technical data sheet the same as a test report?

No. An SPC TDS summarizes product characteristics; a laboratory test report records the specimen, method, conditions and measured results. Request both when a project requires evidence of performance, and confirm that the tested construction matches the flooring being supplied.

Does SPC total thickness include IXPE backing?

The thickness convention depends on the supplier’s specification. Ask for the flooring-body thickness, attached IXPE or EVA pad thickness and combined overall thickness as separate fields. Never assume two products described with the same nominal thickness have identical constructions.

Is a thicker SPC plank automatically more durable?

No. Overall thickness does not establish wear-layer thickness, scratch resistance or joint strength. Compare the surface construction, measured wear layer, core behavior, locking profile and relevant performance reports for the intended traffic and loads.

Which standards should an SPC flooring TDS mention?

The applicable standards depend on the property and destination market. ASTM F3261 addresses rigid-core modular resilient flooring requirements; ISO 24340 addresses layer thickness; ISO 23999 addresses dimensional stability and curling; ISO 24343-1 addresses residual indentation. Agree required editions and ask for model-specific results; a standard reference alone is not proof of compliance.

Can one acoustic rating apply to every SPC flooring model?

No. Acoustic performance depends on the tested flooring and installation assembly. Check the pad, slab, ceiling and other assembly details together with the metric and method. A result for one assembly should not be used to represent a different flooring or backing combination without supporting evidence.

Can waterproof SPC flooring be installed over a damp subfloor?

Waterproof plank construction does not remove the need to assess subfloor moisture. Follow the selected model’s installation requirements for moisture testing, vapor control, flatness and perimeter detailing. Confirm any moisture-prone or unusual installation with the supplier before approval.

How do I request an SPC flooring technical data sheet from 3C-Floor?
